we decided not to move to the USA. Will move to Manila instead for my daughters schooling where it is better.

Laundry – $20

figure $1200 – $1500 month in a place like Dumaguete which has great diving and is a really nice town. Forget Davao. Ugly place and ugly women

Just came across ur page….and see recent post about twins….my advice…dont have them…but ur wife, may have other ideas on the abortion issue….

Doug, If you are relally set on Davao (I would strongly consider living elsewhere) check out the area South of the city in the vicinity of APO Golf Course. Called Talomo I think. You can apply for residency once you are married and it will take about 1 1/2 yrs.

good daycory..my filipina wife and i are planning to buy a house in or around davao can you recomend a good safe reasonably priced area prefferably close to or on beach..being married to a filipina can i just move and stay permanantly or what is the process…??thx

Hi Larry. 3 weeks should give you plenty of time to enjoy the Philippines. Honestly, for me the Country is more about the people and not so much the sights. I feel the country looks very similar wherever you go. I might suggest you visit my home town of Dumaguete which is very foreigner friendly. Thank you for offering assistance. I appreciate your honesty there are positive and negatives in every country.
Though am not moving to the Philippines I’d appreciate your suggestions as to places to visit for 3 weeks. I’ve been traveling in SE Asia for 4 months and would like to get a feel for the Philippines. I know I’d be landing in Manila but next I don’t know. Any suggestions?
I’d like to get a feel for the country obviously I don’t expect to travel nor would I want to visit every Island. Not a partier just hang out, read tranquility and nice food! Am on a budget.
